Live review: Isle of Wight Festival

Despite the poor weather and thick mud at the Isle of Wight festival this certainly didn’t dampen peoples spirits. As Gretchen Peters took to the Garden Stage for her half hour set, the sun came out on cue as if it were shining on the righteousness as she drew in a packed audience.

Standing there eyeing up the crowd, she greeted them with the perfect welcome. “Hello beautiful people, I’m so glad you got here, and I’m very excited to be here”! Singing tracks from the album titled ‘Hello Cruel World‘ which symbolises times of lost causes, troubled love, and missed opportunities, and describes some testing times in her life with some brutally honest lyrics. ‘Dark Angel, ‘Five Minutes‘ and ‘The Matador‘ were amongst some of the tracks, one of which she introduces as “This next song is about a son of a bitch, – hope he’s not here”!
