Gretchen Peters admits she has spent a fair amount of time recently talking to her guitar.

See, the Gibson jumbo she played and upon which she wrote her critically acclaimed 2011 album Hello Cruel World grew a bit too unwieldy for her to manage. That really hit home when she collaborated with Nashville songwriter Lori McKenna (“On Your Side of the Bed,” “The Luxury of Knowing”) and took a musical spin on her Collings.

“I fell completely in love with the sounds of the Collings,” said Peters while relaxing at her northern Florida home,  which doubles as her writer’s retreat. “I wrote to the company and they sent me one that was supposed to go over to England.”
