The live concert CD/DVD/book, Woman On The Wheel: Live From The Hello Cruel World Tour 2012 will be available at gretchenpeters.com exclusively starting on May 7th.
The CD was recorded in April 2012 at Hugh’s Room, the famed Toronto listening venue, with Barry Walsh and Christine Bougie. It contains live versions of all eleven songs from Hello Cruel World plus three bonus tracks: “On A Bus To St. Cloud”, “To Say Goodbye” and the Jagger/Richards classic “Wild Horses”.
The DVD contains an hour-long retrospective of the Hello Cruel World tour, with behind the scenes footage and five full length, full band live performances recorded at the January 2012 CD release show in Nashville, plus full length performances from Cambridge Folk Festival (with legendary bassist Danny Thompson) and Music City Roots (with David Henry). Also included on the DVD are the music videos “The Matador”, “Idlewild”, “Hello Cruel World”, “Saint Francis”, and the full Hello Cruel World EPK. Extra bonus features include some beautiful desktop wallpapers for your computer based on Gina Binkley’s album art.
The CD and DVD are both contained within a 60 page full-color hard cover book, featuring photographs (many of them contributed by fans and friends along the way) and mementos from the tour, with essays by Barry and me about the making of the album, the tour, and the songs that comprise Hello Cruel World.
