While in Portland, OR last month, I dropped by CD Baby to visit their huge (really huge!) warehouse and meet the people behind one of the pioneers in the independent music distribution business. I sat down with CD Baby’s Kevin Breuner and talked about touring on a train, the pros and cons of being an independent artist (many more pros than cons, in my opinion), and my own particular circuitous journey through the publishing houses and record labels of Music Row and beyond.
