“Blackbirds” review – Sydney (Australia) Morning Herald

“…she sings within herself, as if standing at the piano in a small hall: firm-footed but intimate in Everything Falls Away, light but grounded in When You Comin’ Home and with unadorned emotion in the captivating Jubilee. Her lyrical territory is love and death’s intrusion in our lives and how to survive them. While more contemporary sounding, Peters is as adept as Rawlings and Welch at skipping false niceties, telling us in the barely held-in anguish of The Cure For The Pain that “the cure for the pain, is the pain”.
