I’m excited to be able to announce that I’ll be performing at the UK Americana awards show in London on February 3rd, along with Billy Bragg and other UK nominees. The musical director for the show is Ethan Johns. Blackbirds is nominated in three categories. Here’s the official word from the AMA-UK:
The UK Americana Awards show is promising to be something quite special. Not only do we have all the anticipation of waiting to find out who the AMA-UK membership has voted for in all the awards categories, but we can also look forward to performances from some of the best live acts on the Americana scene.
We are delighted to reveal that triple nominee Gretchen Peters will perform at the Awards show. She is in the UK on tour in support of her critically aimed album Blackbirds (pictured above) and we are so pleased that she accepted our invitation.
Also appearing on stage to perform during the awards ceremony will be Danny & The Champions of the World, who are nominated in four separate categories (including Paul Lush’s nod for UK Instrumentalist of the Year), The Dreaming Spires, nominated in three categories (including Joe Bennett’s Instrumentalist nomination), Lewis & Leigh, nominated for UK Song of the Year and Emily Barker, nominated for UK Album of the Year.
That’s all in addition to our earlier announcement that Billy Bragg will be performing at the awards when accepting the first UK Americana Trailblazer Award.
The Awards show will be held at St John at Hackney Church on Wednesday 3rd February at 7pm. Ticket details HERE.
